The decision of which G5-01 welding helmet (the G5-01 TW or the G5-01VC) is right for you really depends on 2 things; budget and what you're using the helmet for.
If money was no object, we would always recommend the G5-01VC, because of how good the variable colour technology is.
However for welders tacking all day, the tack mode is very handy and will help reduce eye fatigue over the course of the day (and you'll save a few dollars compared to the G5-01VC)

The G5-01 range was designed based on direct feedback from professional welders and introduces several improvements over the 9100 series (which led the market for approximately 15 years). Yes. If you already own a Speedglas Adflo PAPR welding helmet, you can purchase a G5-01 Upgrade Kit rather than buying an entirely new helmet and Adflo unit. The G5-01VC Upgrade Kit (Part No. 611130) and the G5-01TW Upgrade Kit (Part No. 611120) allow you to transition to the G5-01 helmet without buying a whole new Adflo setup. This is a popular option for welders looking to access the latest G5-01 features while keeping their existing Adflo system.
Yes. The Speedglas G5-01 range is designed for professional welders who perform MIG, TIG or stick welding. Its large viewing area, comfortable head harness and compatibility with the Adflo powered air respirator make it ideal for long shifts and heavy fabrication work.
Yes. The G5-01 features a flip-up welding lens that reveals a large clear grinding visor underneath. This allows welders to switch between welding and grinding tasks without removing the helmet.
