The decision of which G5-03 welding helmet (the G5-03 Pro Air, the G5-03 Pro or the G5-03E) is right for you really depends on your priorities and what you’re using the helmet for.
If you want a respiratory helmet, you should choose one of the G5-03 Pro Air helmets which provide you with cool, clean air all day while you weld as well as the best lens options available in the market today.
But if you want a non-respiratory option we would recommend one of the G5-03 Pro helmets. These give you an easy, lighter weight welding helmet with the same quality lens options as the G5-03 Pro Air, but with less weight (because there is no respirator).
Finally if you are just starting out, or are very price conscious, then the G5-03E is a good quality mid-range helmet with a quality lens with a few less bells and whistles than the G5-03 Pro or G5-03 Pro Air.
Note; If you are going to buy a non-respiratory helmet, we would always recommend using some form of respiratory when welding, whether it be a PAPR or an alternative reusable or disposable mask with appropriate protection. Your health is important and welding fume is carcinogenic to humans (it causes cancer). Make sure you protect yourself.
All helmets are the highest quality in the market, as you would expect from Speedglas, and they add to the already impressive G5-01 and G5-02 helmets in this 5th generation range of Speedglas helmets.
