The 9002NC was a throwback to the 9002X Series that was discontinued about 10 years ago. Welders loved the lightweight design and simplicity of the 9002X, so they built the 9002NC which incorporated newer lens technology into the old helmet structure.
While the 9002NC was a popular helmet, the helmet design was designed 20 years ago and the world of welding helmets has come a long way since then. Comfort, lens quality, additional functionality and design have all developed massively, and it was time for an upgrade.
The result is the G5-03 Pro range which has a similar light weight design, but comes in 3 top quality lens options (NC, TW or VC), has a more comfortable head harness, tap to grind functionality and an optional task light (if you're getting your head into places you can't easily get a torch at the right angle).
