Why was 100 Series replaced with the G5-03 Pro?

The Speedglas 100 Series (752920, 752820, 752520, 752220, 751620, 751120) was launched in 2009 as an entry level light weight welding helmet option at an affordable price point. Often used as a second helmet for quick jobs, it quickly became a popular helmet.

In 2009, the lens size of the Speedglas 100 Series range was a medium size lens, however in the past 15 years lens sizes and quality have both improved dramatically. Speedglas have pioneered the improvement of reliable, higher quality, larger lenses which are substantial improvements on the 100V welding lens.

As a result, they have launched the G5-03 Pro range (available in NC, TW and VC lens options) to provide even entry level welders with affordable, light weight helmets with good viewing area, quality lens view and a comfortable, practical welding helmet.
